Jazz in Club!

For those of you who enjoy Jazz and like hitting clubs, here's an absolutely awesome piece by Parov Stelar! It's one for keeps, seriously. It's a perfect mix, and you can satisfy your cravings for both jazz and club music at the same time.

I haven't checked out all of his stuff yet, but what I've heard so far is pretty great! Watch the video below to treat your ears :)

Don't Jump

Don't jump, because I'm not about to surprise you. This is a great song by a pretty good band by the name of Tokio Hotel. A friend suggested it a few years ago, and it has been a favorite ever since. It's fast paced beat, loud tones and deep lyrics make up for an excellent treat to the ears.

Many may not relate to the song, but those who do will never forget it. Check it out... make the effort and youtube it, because this one definitely deserves your time.

California Dreamin'

If you haven't already heard this fabulous song, it's time you curse yourself for missing out on it for so long. Some songs never fade away and never lose out to other tunes and this song definitely meets that criteria.

Give Me One Reason

14 - 24 hour work-days, no sleep and survival on 15 minute lunch breaks. That's been my life for the past few days. And amidst all that mess, the song that kept me going with its nerve-calming tune was:

Give Me One Reason - By Tracy Chapman

Check it out, maybe it'll be the song for you as well!

Living on a Prayer

one of my favorite Bon Jovi songs... from their good old days, when they were still away from the more commercial romantic stuff. not that this one lacks a romantic note to be honest...heh. something i love to sing along with. something amazing to out loud with.

SLASH- BY THE SWORD

the lyrics just seem to be making sense today.. and are oddly cathartic. there's a melancholic strain to this track which just goes with the mood. it doesn't aggravate it, just unobtrusively (SOMEHOW!) soothes distraught nerves. Andrew Stockdale's voice simply adds to the whole effect. something to slowly lift you...and actually help you leave it all behind... :)

Buried Under Work Song

Yes, I've been slacking on posting on this page. If you haven't already guessed by the title, I'm going to use this opportunity to blame it on work. The papers and emails all around me every single day are getting to me. And the only peace of mind I get these days is when I am driving back from work with the music cranked up.

Every time this song comes up, I feel the turmoil of my life fade away and a certain groove just taking over. So here is a tune for all my fellow beings who tend to describe themselves are Corporate Slaves. Yes, we are now a raging population and shall take over the world with our rebellious nature.

The Rain Song- Led Zeppelin

heard this song a few days ago... thanks to a dear friend. one of those songs you immediately take to. it's brilliant. sheer brilliance...the music, the lyrics. Plant's voice...like an elixir, unlikely as the comparison might be. of course no true Led Zepp fan would need introduction.. :)

It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune.
Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from time to time.

While You Wait

Some songs just reach out to you as if they were your love.. their touch is soothing and their sound just makes you relax and forget whatever else is occupying your mind.

This song is definitely one of those songs for me. You might have already heard it if you watched Californication at all.

Check out While You Wait by Mark McAdam.

We're in Love- A Take Away Show

All alone
I'd dream
Of castles
All alone
Forgetting myself

If I walk on water
When it feels like dying
We're in love
So why am I crying
Love

beautiful song... by Elysian Fields. a song i was recently introduced to by my friend, Mr. Maximusie. :)

Catch The Wind

This is a pretty old song, but it definitely still holds true today. This is by Donovan, and has often been described as one of his best works.

Here's Catch The Wind by Donovan

And if you liked that song, you would definitely like Universal Soldier by him as well.

Enjoy!

More Alternative stuff

Really great melodic song by People in Planes, called Pretty Buildings. This is a band I really recommend checking out.

People in Planes - Last Man Standing; great apocalyptic style song

Flobots - White Flag Warrior ft Tim McIlrath (singer of Rise Against)

Rise Against - Savior

Next post from me: covers!

Big music dump

Foreigner - Jukebox Hero

Great song, classic rock and gets you excited

Cloud Cult - Forces of the Unseen

Newer alternative rock; this song is great because its angry and positive and catchy.

Justin Timberlake - Losing My Way

This is a really great sound about drug addiction and pleading for help somehow.

Ill Bill - My Uncle Shoots Heroin: this is another great drug intervention song. Before Bill's uncle passed away, he got to hear this song in the studio. That is also up on youtube. He didn't seem to recognize the message. :(

Ill Bill - War is My Destiny

The best reference to Conan the Barbarian I've ever heard.

This is a song about Highlander (which has been edited down) ontop of an anime version of Highlander. Neither are good, but two wrongs does indeed make a right here.

COME UNDONE

Words, playing me deja vu
Like a radio tune I swear I've heard before
Chill, is it something real?
Or the magic I'm feeding off your fingers

a song that i can relate to almost always... the lyrics, the soothing rhythm...et al. have loved it since God knows when. and the lyrics above... well, let's say they pretty much define my state of mind as of now.
listen to it, and let yourself flow with it... :)

Sing A Song, You're The Piano Man

It's been one of my worst days ever, but I listening to this song just makes it all better. It's simplicity is everything, reminding me that the world moves on and sometimes its just easier to sit and watch, instead of participating :)

Piano Man - By Billy Joel

Overhaulin' (Gasoline)

Blinding - Florence and The Machine

I heard this song a few months ago while I was traveling for work. It's the perfect song for people crawling out of a rut in their lives. It's about an end, and the coming of new beginnings. It is about snapping out of a spell that has us blinded.

Moar stuff

GENESIS! I heard this song for the first time on a long drive the other day.

Willow Smith Some girl from YouTube with a cover of "Whip My Hair". It's actually good, which is shocking.

Use Somebody by Kings of Leon

This tune always catches my attention. This is one of my favorites by Kings of Leon and is from their album 'Only By The Night'. It captures the feeling of being invisible to someone you love, or having a different life and world from them.

Check out: Use Somebody by Kings of Leon

New Soul

Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar

I dig this song, but the song has a wack change in the middle where it goes from this rhythmic new soul song to something a bit different. The video is very cinematic, pretty cool.

Chris Webbey ft Mac Millar (sampling Aloe Blacc)

This is a rap song sampling the main riff and hook of Aloe Blacc's song and then rapping on top of it. It's got one of the more critical things to my enjoying a rap song: swag and content.

Porcelain By Moby

No matter which genre of music you enjoy, it's hard not to like this one. This song is like magic, no matter what goes around me, it calms me down.

"Porcelain"

In my dreams I'm dying all the time
As I wake its kaleidoscopic mind
I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to lie
So this is goodbye
This is goodbye

Tell the truth you never wanted me

Tell me

In my dreams I'm jealous all the time

As I wake I'm going out of my mind
Going out of my mind

Check it out!

The Bachelor And The Bride

Some tunes have the power to relax the mind in all circumstances. Their notes fall on our ears and instantly soothe the soul. This is one such song... check it out, if you haven't already heard it.

One More Night - Phil Collins

...I've been sitting here so long
Wasting time, just staring at the phone
And I was wondering should I call you
Then I thought maybe you're not alone

soft, melancholic, sad..and maybe pathetic to some. mellow and easy on ears.. parts of it seem to be written especially for yours truly. heh.

You're The World To Me!

It's a quiet Saturday morning and work has taken a back seat. Here's a song that talks about people we love being our entire world. So it doesn't matter whether you step out or stay in today, all that matters is that you know who your world is!

You're the world to me  - By David Gray

Shattered - By O.A.R.

The song today is something I heard a long time ago on Pandora. Most of you must have heard of O.A.R., if not check them out on YouTube!

Here's the song: Shattered - By O.A.R. (Of A Revolution)

Enjoy!

Emotions & Photons

This song is alive with some great happy vibes. It's mellow, yet happening and definitely a personal favorite.

Emotions & Photons - By Freezepop

Lyrics:
Another day flows by, time travel gone astray
My mind in disarray, I could have run away to be with you
I could have run away to be with you
I should have run away to be with you

Once we got lost in the woods with your hand interlaced between mine
And I stared straight at the sun and imagined the beams realigned
Emotions and photons, that flicker like bees when I look in your eyes, intertwine

six stories above, I watch the world creep by
I used to be in love and that's enough to make me high on you
and that's enough to make me high on you
and that's enough to make me high on you

Enjoy!
